What the experts say.

Doctor with a stethoscope in the hands and hospital background.

"Vitamin C has received a great deal of attention, and with good reason. Higher blood levels of vitamin C may be the ideal nutrition marker for overall health.
The more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health [and] immunity to living longer.
But, the ideal dosage may be higher than the recommended dietary allowance.
"There is good evidence taking vitamin C for colds and flu can reduce the risk of developing further complications, such as pneumonia and lung infections."

Mark Moyad, MD, MPH.
University of Michigan

What is Vitamin C?

Vitamin c is an essential nutrient also called Ascorbic acid. It helps in the proper functioning of the body, which involves collagen formation, iron absorption. It also assists in strengthening immunity and maintenance of bone, cartilage, and teeth. The daily requirement for adults is 2000mg. 4. Heart diseases:

Vitamin c prevents heart disease by hardening vessels and improves endothelial functions.

5. Antioxidant:

6. Treat Scurvy.

It prevents scurvy by the formation of collagen in tissues, bones, and teeth, etc.
